
Dr. Joseph E. Gaugler
Distinguished McKnight University Professor, University of Minnesota School of Public Health
Dr. Joseph E. Gaugler is an applied gerontologist and a Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health. He holds the Robert L. Kane Endowed Chair in Long-Term Care and Aging and serves as the Director of both the Center for Healthy Aging and Innovation and the BOLD Public Health Center of Excellence on Dementia Caregiving. His research focuses on the longitudinal implications of family care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other chronic conditions, as well as the effectiveness of community-based and psychosocial services for these populations. Dr. Gaugler is also known for his work in mixed-methods research and implementation science. In addition to his leadership in various national research centers, he currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of The Gerontologist.
